As part of upgrades on our WemaOnline and WemaMobile platforms, we have introduced the use of HARDWARE TOKENS* to improve the security of your account and reduce internet/cyber fraud incidents to the barest minimum. In view of this, the use of soft-tokens currently being received via sms for authenticating transactions on these platforms will be discontinued effective MONDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2015.
From this date, authentication of financial transactions on WemaOnline and WemaMobile would only be done with the use of a hardware token which can be picked up at any Wema Bank branch.

USING YOUR HARDWARE TOKEN IN 3 SIMPLE STEPS
1. Collect a hardware token which is linked to your account and a default PIN from any of our branche
2. Log on to WemaOnline on any internet enabled device and change the default PIN to your preferred 4-digit PIN (Remember, your PIN is personal to you and must not be shared with anyone)
3. To complete a transaction on WemaOnline/ WemaMobile, simply type your 4-digit PIN followed by a 6-digit code generated from your hardware token once prompted

to register. You can also download WemaMobile from your phone apps store.
